A PLACE WHERE YOUR BUSINESS CAN TAKE FLIGHT

The Black Country is home to a wealth of innovative companies in automotive, aerospace, and construction technologies – key sectors identified in by the Black Country Smart Specialisation Strategy.

One resource formerly lacking in the Black Country was the availability of laboratory and prototyping space required to support these sectors in today’s economy.

Industries in the region can now benefit from such facilities, provided by the award winning Science Centre at the University of Wolverhampton Science Park.

This specialist space comprises high quality managed business space, access to quality and flexible laboratory space, workshops with 3-Phase and 2-Phase electricity, data points and roller shutter doors and also an on-site Fab-Lab, to help test or build prototypes to support new product development.

This unique combination of workspace can make a significant impact in supporting the growth of existing businesses, leading to increased competitiveness and productivity within the sectors and their supply chains.

With close links to the University of Wolverhampton, the state-of-the-art, flexible facility also provides access to world-leading researchers, academics, and highly-talented graduates who can provide a supporting role in driving forward your business.

Located on a prime site approximately a mile north of Wolverhampton city centre and a few minutes away from i54 Enterprise Zone, the University of Wolverhampton Science Park provides over 140,000 ft2 of lettable business space and has the benefit of easy access to the UK motorway network, intercity rail services and several regional airports.

With the experience that comes with nearly 25 years of operation and expansion, the site has provided work-space for companies in all stages of development, encouraged by the dedicated business support on site including, the Black Country Growth Hub, the University’s Business Solutions Centre and Black Country Chamber of Commerce, as well as a business incubation space and services to support new business ventures.

The Science Park is now home to over 100 businesses working in a broad range of technological, creative and scientific disciplines. It also has close links with the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills a new employer-led training facility for the Black Country, designed to enhance productivity in the region’s high value manufacturing sector, based at the University of Wolverhampton’s evolving Springfield Campus.

This year, at the Made in the Midlands Expo held at the Ricoh Arena in June, we decided to join our resources in a collaboration of business expertise. C, come and meet the teams from the University of Wolverhampton Science Park Commercial Office, the Business Solutions Centre and the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills and find out more about the workspace facilities and business support available.
