Another award nomination!

The new Science Centre at University of Wolverhampton Science Park has been shortlisted for another award, on this occasion the awarding body is the British Council for Offices (http://www.bco.org.uk/); where the building has been entered into the “Commercial Workplace” category.

The BCO Awards are widely respected within the commercial property sector as they display the strength of British office design and illustrate a combination of excellence from the clarity of purpose in the brief; ingenuity of product; clever design solutions where appropriate; and delivery on time and within budget.

The University of Wolverhampton Science Park is recognised as a vibrant technology community in the region, encouraging start-up businesses and supporting the growth of innovation-based companies, and the addition of the Science Park’s award-winning Science Centre has strengthened this reputation by providing much-needed facilities to the aerospace, automotive, construction and life sciences sectors in the region. It offers high quality offices, laboratories and workshops and aims to improve regional economic performance and attract inward investment to the area by combining this with access to a World-Leading research base, talented graduate resources and a range of business support services.

This latest shortlist submission follows a string of award nominations, earlier this year the Science Centre was shortlisted for the S-Lab and UK Science Park Association (UKSPA) Awards 2019 in the award category of ‘Most Successful Project’. The winners will be announced at the UKSPA national conference being held in Birmingham in April this year.

Throughout 2018 the Science Centre received similar accolades, scooping Regional Winner (West Midlands) for Best Large Commercial Building at the LABC Excellence Awards, which celebrate the best in construction in England and Wales, recognising the high level of quality and skill throughout the UK. The centre was also shortlisted for the Insider's Property Awards as well as two RICS Awards.

The expanding tenant community at the Science Park is currently home to over 100 companies who have prospered from the wide range of support services available, together with high quality work-space and support facilities …….and its community continues to grow with more companies joining each month when capacity allows.
